Where to Begin:
Before calling Father Bergeron or Father Chris to make an appointment to set your wedding date and begin your marriage preparations, please read the following:
You should each obtain a copy of your baptismal certificate. This should be a new copy. The certificate will note the date of confirmation and will note any previous marriage. We must ascertain the fact that each of you has not been married before in order to set the wedding date. Please, get these NEW certificates from the church where you were baptized.
If neither of you are members of this parish, please get a letter of permission from the pastor of either bride or groom to have the marriage take place at St. Anne's.
Persons who are not confirmed may be married in church, however we gently urge that all make their confirmation.
Persons baptized outside of the United States may present a letter from a parent indicating that they have never been married in any way, including before a justice of the peace or even a common-law marriage at the preliminary meeting to set the date.
Once you have done these things, call Father Bergeron or Father Chris at (508) 674-5651 to make an appointment. At that preliminary meeting, you can set the date for your wedding.
