Rules for Florists

Please give this information to your florist.

Decorations in the Church help create a festive atmosphere and make the wedding celebration special. In addition to corsages, boutonnieres, and bouquets, many couples place floral arrangements in the Church. As a help to florists and those decorating the Church, we ask you please to follow these guidelines:

1. During the Seasons of Advent, Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost, there may already be flowers and decorations in the Church. Wedding flowers and decorations should blend with these seasonal decorations.

2. There are pedastals in Church available for your use. They are located behind the high altar that holds the Tabernacle. If you use them, please restore them to the proper place after you are finished with them.

3. Only fresh cut flowers may be used and care must be taken to protect our rugs and floor from moisture.

4. No decorations, flowers, or objects may be placed on the altar.

5. If a Unity Candle or any candleabras are used, care must be taken to protect our rugs and floor from wax. In the case of the Unity Candle, a small table will be provided in front of the altar.

6. The throwing of rice, confetti, flower petals, or anything else, in the Church, on the walkways, or in the area around the Church is prohibited.

7. Aisle runners are forbidden in all circumstances.

8. No trash should be left in Church including boxes, boutonniere cases, and pins.

9. Any flower arrangements that you would like to leave in Church are greatly appreciated. This is a way to enhance the Church, not only for your wedding, but for the weekend Masses.
