Father Marchildon Reflects

Father Marchildon, OP was born in Canada in 1876. He was ordained a priest in the Dominican Order in 1903 and was assigned to Saint Anne's in 1905. He served here until 1913 and returned in 1917 to serve at Saint Anne's until 1965. During much of that time, he served as the Director of the Shrine. Feeling the effects of old age and the physical limitations of an accident in 1955, he left Saint Anne's in 1965 for a facility in Montreal. He died there on January 15, 1972. His body was returned to Saint Anne's for his funeral and his mortal remains are located in the Shrine Crypt.
