Chaplet of Saint Anne

Each part consists of the Our Father, 5 Hail Marys and the Glory Be. After each Hail Mary say, “Jesus, Mary, Anne, grant us the favors we ask.”

1st part: In honor of Jesus, the grandson of Good Saint Anne

2nd part: In honor of Mary, the glorious daughter of Good Saint Anne

3rd part: In honor of Good Saint Anne, our great Patroness and Protector

Novena Prayer

Remember O Saint Anne, thou whose name signifies grace and mercy, that never was it known, that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help and sought thy intercession, was left unaided.

Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, good and kind mother; before thee, I kneel sinful and sorrowing.

O holy mother of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, despise not my petitions, but hear me and answer my prayer. Amen.

Good Saint Anne, pray for us.

Prayer of a Grandparent

Saints Anne and Joachim, I am a grandmother (grandfather) and indeed a very anxious grandparent. I worry, not only about my children but also about my grandchildren. They are confronted with a life full of obstacles, dangers, and difficult issues. They are not always aware of this. So, I beg you to take them under your maternal and paternal protection, you who have taken such good care of Jesus, your grandson.

You brought up your daughter, Mary. Together, you taught her how to observe the Commandments through love of God and neighbor. I now entrust my children to you.

When Jesus was born of Mary, how delighted you were! Out of the same love that you had and still have for your grandson, Jesus, please extend your protection to my grandchildren of whom some are still young while others have grown up and are facing life’s responsibilities. Bless them all. Help them to discover the importance of prayer, the beauty of Christian virtues and love for the Lord! Keep them away from physical, moral, and religious obstacles to their happiness.

Saints Anne and Joachim, may we be reunited in heavenly bliss. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Anne

Glorious Saint Anne, I desire to honor you with a special devotion. I choose you, after the Blessed Virgin, as my spiritual mother and protectress. To you I entrust my soul and my body, all my spiritual and temporal interests, as well as those of my family. To you I consecrate my mind, that in all things it may be enlightened by faith; my heart, that you may keep it pure and fill it with love for Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and yourself; my will, that like yours, it may always be one with the Will of God.

Good Saint Anne, filled with love for those who invoke you with compassion for those who suffer, I confidently place before you my earnest petition:

Here one can pause to mention any particular intentions.

I beg you to recommend my petition to your daughter, the Blessed Virgin Mary, that both Mary and you may present it to Jesus. Through your earnest prayers may my request be granted. But if what I ask should not be according to the Will of God, obtain for me that which will be for the greater benefit of my soul. By the power and the grace with which God has blessed you, extend to me your helping hand.

But most of all, merciful Saint Anne, I beg you to help me to master my evil inclinations and temptations, and to avoid all occasions of sin. Obtain for me the grace of never offending God, of fulfilling faithfully all the duties of my state in life, and of practicing all those virtues that are needful for my salvation.

Like you, may I belong to God in life and in death through perfect love. And after having loved and honored you on earth as a truly devoted child, may I, through your prayers, have the privilege of loving and honoring you in heaven with the Angels and Saints throughout eternity.

Good Saint Anne, mother of her who is our life, our sweetness and our hope, pray to her for me and obtain my request. Amen.
